It may not seem like it, but the leaves are about to start turning and now is the perfect time to get your fall seasonal landscape in order. The following are some ideas that you just might want to think over.
Start by preparing your grass. If you have Fescue or Rye, consider covering any bare or thinning spots with fresh seed. This will give it a chance to take root before the frost sets in.
You will also want to give your grass a healthy dose of fertilizer so that it can sink in and strengthen the root system to withstand the winter. At the same time, go ahead and put an herbicide down. This will keep the weeds from springing up in the spring.
Finally, be sure to save your leaves and grass clippings and put them into your compost bin. Composting these through the winter will give you a ready supply of compost to use in the Spring.
