Landscape design isn’t as complicated as it may seem, when you’re faced with a huge, unplanned or overgrown yard. At Hermes Landscaping, we like to keep it simple. If you keep a few crucial design points in mind, you can create a modern landscape design with ease.
First, keep the spaces clearly delineated, with borders and compartments–green patches marked out with gravel pathways or metal edges are very popular in current designs. A two-toned pathway with large stepping stones floating in gravel makes an excellent modern touch. A raised patio area, separated with wood or metal edging, makes any space feel contemporary and clean. Introducing a modern sculptural piece, in another area (raised or separated with another gravel), makes a yard feel like a museum garden.
Water features can be very modern in a yard. A sleek waterfall, flush to a wall or free standing, brings both modern sensibility and good Feng Shui to your yard. Likewise with an outdoor fire pit. Keeping clean lines in a fire pit, whether it’s round or circular, and pairing it with a water feature, creates visual calm and physical comfort.
At Hermes Landscaping, we’re happy to help create the right landscape design for your home.
