Now that the weather is getting warmer and people are staying outside later due to the warmer temperatures, energy efficient landscape lighting is a smart upgrade that many homeowners are taking advantage of. Since people have successfully gone green in their homes, they want to be able to do the same in their outdoor living spaces as well. Just in case you are unfamiliar with the term LED, here are the basics:
- LED stands for light-emitting diode – a semiconductor device that emits visible light when an electric current passes through it by the movement of electrons
- LEDs conserve energy by not getting excessively hot or burning particularly bright
- LED lighting is great for outdoors because a single LED light will out live an ordinary incandescent light bulb by thousands of hours
- When properly installed, LED lights can function for decades, which in turn means less waste production
Have you been thinking about energy efficient LED landscape lighting for your Kansas City area home or business?
