It looks like we’re in for another hot and dry summer this year. Between the heat and the drought, there are some summer landscape maintenance suggestions you should follow for your business this season to keep the landscape from drying up and blowing away.
First, be aware that July is the hottest and driest month of the year. This means you should plan to do a little extra watering to keep the grass healthy. That is of course dependent on the amount of rain we receive; thus, watch the rain totals carefully and be prepared to water accordingly.
You will also want to be on the lookout for pests and insects. The more stressed the plants become, the more susceptible they will be to aphids, grasshoppers, ants, and other insects. If you notice the plants are becoming stressed under the summer sun, give them some water, and if possible, some extra shade. You won’t be able to transplant them, but you can relocate potted plants or place netting over flower beds.
