Selecting the right plants for your outdoor space means taking a number of things into consideration. That’s why we advise customers to factor the following into their decision:
- Don’t forget to consider how large a plant will grow. Potted plants in the nursery can grow quite large and you should research each plant carefully.
- A plant that grows 4′ wide should never be planted 1′ away from another plant. Make sure to factor this into your layout before you ever put a spade in the soil.
- Generally, larger plants require more maintenance and water. However, smaller plants still need attention as well because smaller roots require fewer nutrients, but more care. Hermes fertilization recommendations and lawn sprinkler systems give these smaller plants the optimum environment to grow.
- Plant quantity depends on the look you want. If you want a hedge row then plant shrubs closer together so that they’ll grow together; and if you don’t want a hedge like appearance, further apart.
