At one time reel mowers were the only option for landscaping care in Kansas City. Technology has made our lives so much easier, but some lawns still have a use for these pieces of equipment that run without fuel.
While the days of those old mowers may have seemed numbered, they have made quite a comeback. Known as “reel mowers,” the modern versions are wonders of mechanical engineering. They are actually quite efficient and have many advantages over today’s combustion engine models. Reel mowers are quiet, relatively inexpensive and they don’t pollute. In short, they are an ideal option for homeowners with smaller yards.
No one is suggesting that any homeowner tackle an acre of high-grown grass with a reel mower but there are plenty of homeowners with smaller yards who would appreciate the compactness, the ready availability and the affordability of a reel mower if they just gave one a try. You might even lose a few unwanted pounds.
