A great looking landscape will add beauty and value to any home. The process is fairly simple but it does take time and experience to get the best results. Still, many new homeowners enthusiastically jump into a landscaping project and are then disappointed by their efforts. Many of the problems are self-inflicted and can be eliminated if you avoid these common mistakes:
- Failing to Plan – From choosing the focal point of the garden to coordinating the views from the windows of the home, a good plan will save you time, money and aggravation.
- Choosing the Wrong Plants – Garden stores will sell any type of plant as long as there is a demand for it. Just because they are available in your area does not mean that they are suitable for your yard. Do a little homework for the best results.
- No Variety – Having a theme is one thing but overdoing it is another. Be sure to use a variety of plant that vary in color, height and shape in your landscaping project.
