In case you didn’t hear, the USDA published a new planting zone map for the United States. It is in response to the increase in temperatures around the country. Kansas City has now moved from a zone 5 to a zone 6, which means there are a number of varieties that historically would winter kill in Kansas City that no longer will.
This provides us the opportunity for hundreds of new varieties of plants to be considered in the landscape. Exciting stuff!
